. : I started thinking about this seashell in the summer of 1999 in Miami.

. : Now its March of 2002, and the ratio resurfaces in my psyche on the night of the 9th. Stay up until 3 or so...
. : First attempt at construction. Neat fractal, not at all what I wanted.
. : What the?
. : This is better looking, but wrong.

M O R N I N G . A F T E R
. : Realize that there is a brute force method for finding the ratio. Working title for constant is "O" (the letter). [1 + O + O^2 = O^3 + O^4], [O + O^2 + O^3 = O^4 + O^5], etc
. : Found it! You can see my method (to 14 or 15 decimal places) in an html table.
. : Draw representation of how my construction will turn out, but don't actually construct it.
. : Draw prettier version of above, but still have not figured out how to construct it.

A N D . B E Y O N D
. : Remember about bisecting an angle to inscribe a circle... Getting warmer?
. : My goal is to make a consice construstion which yields (proves) "O" on par with this one for pi.
. : Any ideas? Email me: s e a s h e l l @ f o r r e s t o . c o m
